Claudette G. Baker

Claudette G. Baker delivers training and provides technical assistance to nonprofit organizations.  Her consulting services focuses on organizational development (strategic thinking and planning, and program development), project management, board governance and development, basic fundraising, and leadership development.

She previously served as Vice President of Library and Nonprofit Services at the Donors Forum. In this position, Ms. Baker planned and directed operations and services of the Donors Forum Library, had oversight of developing curriculum for technical assistance workshops and programs of interest to the nonprofit sector, and had oversight of the financial growth and revenue production for library services and activities. She also served as an instructor for Donors Forum workshops.

Her career has spanned the for-profit, government and nonprofit sectors for more than 25 years. She has an in-depth understanding of the complexities in managing and governing nonprofit organizations. Ms. Baker served as the Senior Director of Center Development for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, was a Regional Director for retired US Senator J. Bennett Johnston (D-LA), and was an Account Executive for a top rated radio station in Louisiana.  Ms. Baker holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  She is active in the Chicago community and currently serves on the board of directors for the Crossroads Fund and is a past board member and officer of Association of Fundraising Professionals, Chicago Chapter.
